These days everyone raves about using dry shampoo in between hair washes. I am the type who would rather wash my hair and have it clean and fresh - hence, I hadn't ever tried one in my life!! On a trip to London, I decided to pick up a 50 ml travel size of Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo. Since Philip Kingsley is a hair maestro and a reputable brand, I thought that hopefully this won't damage my hair as opposed to other dry shampoos that are available in the drugstore i.e. Boots.
Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo
Being I am a dark brunette, I hoped that this wouldn't cast a white powdery layer on my hair and side parting. And most of all, I didn't want my scalp to feel itchy and dirty. As it is you already have oil build up and the least you want is to make your hair feel more greasy and gritty!
Sadly, my expectations were a bit far fetched! Once I sprayed it from a distance of 15cm, I found it quite hard to get rid of the white powder that it had cast on my hair. It seemed as if I had grey hair and used my fingers to massage it into the roots after brushing it through my hair. One thing I noticed was that it added some volume to my hair which was a bonus! On the flip side, the spray mechanism broke on the third use and I have quite a bit in the can which will go to waste - a bummer!!
Your hair does feel clean and the spray has a pleasant smell. I could tolerate it and wasn't annoyed by it when I would get whiffs of it during the day. As for my scalp, it felt itchy after a day and knew that I could no longer pull it off and jumped in the shower.
I would say that this is a quick fix for those days when you are pressed for time and have to make yourself look presentable. I personally wouldn't like to use dry shampoos on a regular basis as some people do. I don't think the product build up and the gunk they leave on the hair shaft would do wonders for anyone's hair. But, to each their own.
Do let me know your experience with dry shampoos or this one in particular! I might just cave and try Batiste!!
